Vacuum De-Watering Finishing

Anandh Infra provides vacuum de-watering concrete floor finishing for industrial and commercial projects where a dense, durable and even floor surface is required. The VDF/Tremix process removes excess water from freshly placed concrete through a controlled vacuum operation before mechanical finishing. Proper execution supports improved surface strength, reduced laitance and a floor better suited to regular operational use.

Every floor is different, so the work begins with a review of the drawings, concrete placement plan, access, pour sequence and expected use of the space. Our team coordinates with the client and site team on concrete supply, bay sizes, levels, construction joints and curing arrangements. The final method and finish are agreed for the specific project before work begins.

How the VDF/Tremix process works

After concrete is placed and levelled to the required profile, filter pads and vacuum mats are positioned over the surface. A vacuum pump draws surplus water and air through the filter system. The operation is controlled by the site team and adjusted to the concrete condition and work area. The mats are then removed and the surface is finished with suitable mechanical equipment to achieve the specified texture and level.

Typical work sequence

  1. Review the slab layout, pour plan, levels, access and agreed finish.
  2. Prepare the base and coordinate reinforcement, embedded services and pour readiness with the project team.
  3. Place, compact and level the concrete in planned bays.
  4. Carry out vacuum de-watering with suitable mats and equipment.
  5. Complete mechanical finishing, edges and construction-joint details.
  6. Protect and cure the finished surface in accordance with the approved project method.

Quality, coordination and suitable applications

Good floor performance depends on the concrete specification, placement, weather, substrate preparation, joint layout, finishing sequence and curing. We coordinate these dependencies with the client or principal contractor and record the agreed work sequence before the pour. Surface appearance and performance depend on site conditions and the approved specification; sample areas can be reviewed where the project requires them.

Common applications

  • Industrial and manufacturing floor slabs
  • Warehouses, workshops and logistics areas
  • Commercial service and back-of-house spaces
  • Other concrete floors where a dense, mechanically finished surface is specified

To prepare a project enquiry, share available drawings, floor area, slab thickness and concrete specification, pour schedule, access constraints, required finish, joint details and curing requirements. Anandh Infra can then review the scope and coordinate the execution plan with the site team.
