Mechanical Finishing

Anandh Infra undertakes mechanical finishing of concrete floors and surfaces for construction, commercial and industrial projects. Mechanical finishing uses appropriate power trowels or other finishing equipment to refine a concrete surface after placing, levelling and initial setting. The objective is to achieve the surface profile and texture defined by the project specification while maintaining a safe, coordinated site process.

The finish depends on the concrete mix, placement conditions, timing, slab layout, edges, joints and the intended use of the area. We review these factors with the client or contractor before mobilization and coordinate the work sequence with concrete placement and other trades.

Finishing scope and execution

Our mechanical finishing scope can include preparation checks, coordination of pour bays, finishing of open floor areas, treatment around edges and columns, and coordination of construction joints. Equipment and finishing passes are selected for the access, slab dimensions, concrete condition and specified surface. Hand finishing is used where equipment cannot safely or accurately reach.

Typical sequence

  1. Review drawings, levels, floor specification, pour sizes and site access.
  2. Confirm readiness with the concrete placement and reinforcement teams.
  3. Check that embedded services, edge forms and isolation details are complete.
  4. Place and level concrete in the agreed sequence.
  5. Carry out mechanical passes at suitable stages as the concrete sets.
  6. Finish perimeter and restricted areas, protect the surface and coordinate curing.

Quality checks and project coordination

Reliable results require coordination between concrete supply, placement, finishing and curing. Our team works to the approved project specification and agreed site method, with attention to levels, transitions, edges, columns, construction joints and the uniformity of the finished area. The final tolerance and texture should be confirmed against the project requirements before work begins.

Information to share for an estimate

  • Floor drawings, area and slab thickness
  • Concrete specification and reinforcement or embedded-service details
  • Required level, flatness and surface texture
  • Pour sizes, programme, access and working hours
  • Joint layout, curing method and protection requirements

Mechanical finishing may be used in warehouses, workshops, commercial spaces and other concrete floor areas where the approved design calls for a mechanically finished surface. Project-specific performance requirements should be confirmed by the designer or client.
